Purposes:
This screen is only
accessible from the ‘S52 – Maintain MEP File’. This screen allows the MIMS user
to search for virtually any party that has a relationship to a MEP file, by
entering specific criteria to exactly match the Individual or
Organization. After clicking the
“Search” button a result list is produced.
Prerequisites:
1.
MIMS
user must have applicable security authorization to access this screen.

Helpful Hints
·
When
entering a MEP File Number preceding ‘zeros’ are not required (i.e: for MEP File Number 0000-111, enter as 111).
·
Hyphenating
is not required and will result in an error message if used in the MEP File
Number (1002-142 enter as 1002142).
·
Search
criteria are not case sensitive.
i.e. uppercase, lower case or a combination of case can be used in
fields.
·
When
searching by Provincial file number, enter only the numeric value, do not enter
a P or hyphen.

Criteria Child Window start from the

Enter
a file number
-
Click
search - this brings you to Screen S61 Maintain MEP File

Click
on the ‘Parties’ tab - you are now on Screen S52 – Maintain MEP File.
1.
Click
the Search button.
2.
If
no party was found then Screen ‘S13 – Party Search Criteria
(s52UpdatePartiesToExistingFile)’ Child Window will display, this allows the
user to enter a variety of search criteria.
The more search criteria entered the shorter the results list. OR
If a
party number is entered not related to the file, Screen ‘S13 – Party Search
Criteria (s52UpdatePartiesToExistingFile)’ will display.
3.
A
sort order can be selected if required.
4.
Click
the Search button.
5.
Screen
‘S14 – Party Search Results (s52UpdatePartiesToExistingFile)’ Child Window will
appear display all parties matching the criteria entered. The Result List will be sorted by the
default sort criteria unless the user selected a different choice.
·
If
only one single record is found to match the criteria entered, the Maintain
Party screen is displayed.
·
If
the only search criteria entered is a File Number, the Party Search Results
will display all parties related to that particular file, such as Debtor,
Primary Creditor, Creditor or Dependant.
·
If
no match is found for the search criteria, the S14 – Part Search Results will
display indicating that no matches were found.
6.
Continue
by selecting the party from the Result List.

Enter a Party Number. This will search for all MEP Files with
this party number related to the file. |

Use the drop down
box to select “Exact” or “Starts With” to enter last name. Will search both
active and inactive names. Will search both
current and alias party names. A minimum of 2 characters must be entered to
search with “Starts With”. |

First
name |
Use
the drop down box to select “Exact” or “Starts with” to enter first name. Must
be used in conjunction with last name. |

Middle
Name |
Use
the drop down box to select “Exact” or “Starts with” to enter middle name. Must
be used in conjunction with last name. |

Birth
Date |
Enter
the birth date using the following format '‘YYYY-MM-DD’,
where Y = Year, M = Month and D = Day. Must be used in conjunction with last name. |

Other
Identifier: |
Select from the down box one of the
Identifiers options and then enter the corresponding information for that
identifier. MIMS will automatically add dashes between
numeric characters where applicable.
The MIMS user when entering search criteria can include dashes. Both ways will work. |
Party Type - Organization |
Will
part of the screen will not display for external users except provisional
agents. |

Use the drop down box to select “Exact” or
“Starts with” to enter name. Will search both
active and inactive names. Will search current,
legal and alias party names. A minimum of 2 characters must be entered to
search with “Starts With”. |

Country,

Select from the drop down list. |

City/Town |
Select
from the drop down list. The drop
down list will only become available once the Country, Province/State has
been selected. This field is mandatory if Mailing Address Line 1 has been
completed. |

Use
the drop down box to select “Exact” or “Starts with”. Enter
the postal code or for USA addresses a zip code. This
field is mandatory if Mailing Address line 1 has been completed. |

Sort Criteria |

Sort
Order |
Select
the preferred sort order from the drop down box. Can be sorted by party type, name or birth date. The result list screen will be sorted by
the selected sort criteria. |

Click
the ‘Search’ button after entering one or more search criteria. |
|
|
Resets
screen back to defaults. |
Error Messages
No
error messages appear on the Child Window.
If the incorrect information has not been entered the search is not
completed and the user remains on the Screen ‘S13 – Party Search Criteria
(s52UpdatePartiesToExistingFile)’. Try
using different search criteria.
